Tradition in a modern environment
About 35 kilometres west of the city centre of Copenhagen,
students gather every day to take their upper secondary education
at Roskilde Katedralskole.
Dating back to the 10th century, Roskilde Katedralskole has a long
tradition of educating the youth of the surrounding area.
Today, the school is a modern school which provides upper
secondary education to about 1400 students. The school has grown
and changed significantly since its foundation as a school
educating priests at Roskilde Cathedral. But traditions are kept
alive and celebrated, and learning and as well as personal
development are still our main focus.
We are continuously updating our facilities and buildings to
accommodate to the current number of students.
As a school we constantly upgrade and develop our opportunities
for innovative teaching and development for students, and we keep a
modern study environment which both our students and staff benefit
Room for everyone
At Roskilde Katedralskole you can take your general upper
secondary education (stx) if you are between 15-20 years old. We
accommodate for a number of exchange students every year, and they
fit in well with the school's broad diversity of Danish students.
It is important for us to support a learning environment which
gives room for everyone who is interested in learning. And we offer
you good opportunities for learning as we provide a range of
subject combinations to choose from. The school also offers
opportunity for international cooperation and inspiration through
participation in various international projects and
Warm and open atmosphere
Even though Roskilde Katedralskole is a large school for
Danish standards, the atmosphere here is always welcoming and warm.
We appreciate an open and warm tone amongst students and teachers
alike, as we believe this will establish the best learning and
working environment. Students at Roskilde Katedralskole come from
the city of Roskilde as well as from the many towns and villages
surrounding Roskilde; this calls for what we believe to be of
utmost importance: acceptance of differences. Luckily we are all
different, and differences need dialogue, which is the foundation
